Our research group explores the intricate relationship between language and religion, focusing on how religious beliefs shape linguistic expressions in Arabic and other world languages. We analyze naturally occurring corpus data using text and discourse analysis theories to uncover the pragmaticization, discourse features, and cultural manifestations of religious formulas. Our studies highlight the variable use of religious markers across genders and the special communicative meanings of expressions related to figures such as the prophet, god, and satan.
