Price: (2.5) JD | | In the beginning of the 19th century a literary movement appeared in Russian, called "the Caucasian literature", since many of the literary works were illustrating the main events happening there. It focused on the representation of Circassians and other Caucasians in the texts of Pushkin, Lermontov and Tolstoy to reveal the interplay between Russian Euro-centrism and the discourse of power/knowledge in the relevant texts. The first chapter examines a number of interrelated issues in two sections, the first section places the texts of Pushkin, Lermontov and Tolstoy in their historical context. The second section foregrounds the main principles of the post-colonial discourse analysis theory, on whose basis the study examines the texts of Pushkin, Lermontov and Tolstoy in the subsequent chapters.
