This group was created as a first step towards directing research at the University of Jordan and Jordan in the field of astronomy, astrophysics and space technology. Space sciences play an important role in peoples lives at the present time, as space is expected to be one of the most important economies in the world in 2040. Establishing a research group in astronomy and space physics at the University of Jordan would be a significant step for the following reasons: 1. Enhancing Scientific Research and Developing Expertise It would contribute to the development of astronomical research in Jordan and support researchers and students interested in the field. It provides the university with opportunities for international collaboration with research centers and space agencies such as NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA). 2. Supporting a Knowledge- and Technology-Based Economy Jordan has begun focusing on space and related technologies, and establishing a research group would contribute to introducing advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and space data analysis. It opens opportunities for commercial and technological applications, including GPS systems, satellite communications, and climate monitoring. 3. Keeping Up with Regional and Global Developments Arab countries such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia are making significant investments in space programs, making it essential for Jordan to be part of this progress.
