Planned Activities

Day 1: Seminar for a broader audience, topics covered:

  • Overview of projects conducted over the past five years on cereals, other plants, pests, and weeds in Jordan.
  • The status of wheat stem rust in Jordan, including race identification using differential sets and SNP analysis.
  • Research on fungal and bacterial endophytes from various plant sources and key findings.
  • New projects focused on forest health and soil health.
Day 2: Round table discussion with PhD students
  • Interactive discussion on emerging research topics and methodologies.
  • Sharing insights on entomopathogenic fungi identified on red palm weevil and fall armyworm.
  • Studies on Trichoderma spp. from Jordan and preliminary research on their potential use in biological control.
  • Collaborative idea generation for future research projects.
Day 3: Laboratory work sessions 
  • Practical demonstrations on pathogen identification and molecular techniques.
  • Hands-on session on endophytic fungal and bacterial isolation.
  • Analysis of Trichoderma spp. and their potential in biocontrol applications.
