Eng Mohammad Alamayreh, Department of Horticulture and Crop Science, School of Agriculture, University of Jordan, Jordan
Eng Mohammad is a graduate student (MSc level) at our department. He is works as Agricultural Engineer at major fertilizer development company in Jordan.
He is engaged in our research group focusing on abiotic stress on plant. He is mainly interested in saline irrigation water (as a result of climate change) on date palms. Dates plantations are ever expanding in Jordan and as irrigation water quality is dropping, related investigations are more than urgent. He is investigating mycorrhiza as an alleviating agent in date palms. He is studying both chemical and physiological changes on long-term application of saline irrigation water on Majhoul dates. He is also looking for responsive gene expression under these conditions to see the mitigation response of dates.
