The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Global Affairs Canada (GAC), is implementing the project “Enhancing Coastal Ecosystem Biodiversity and Resilience in the Gulf of Aqaba Jordan (GoA-J)” focused on nature-based solutions (NBS) to protect and restore coastal ecosystems both on land and underwater. This holistic initiative includes introducing native coastal plant species, constructing artificial reefs, and fostering sustainable livelihoods for local communities. A workshop was held in Aqaba, aiming to advance these efforts on restoration strategies using native plants. The workshop addressed challenges and opportunities, design natural spaces around dams, and engage the community to ensure the sustainability of these initiatives.

Prof. Sadder gave an important talk about "Plant tissue culture to propagate recalcitrant wild plants", which raised attention about using plant tissue culture to help in fast propagation of recalcitrant wild plants in Aqaba.
