Dr Oumama Hamasha Organised a Scholarly Panel on Imam al-Bukhārī’s Methodology at the European Academy of Religion (EuARe 2025) Conference in Vienna

Dr Oumama Hamasha participated in the European Academy of Religion (EuARe) 2025 conference, held in Viennafrom 8 to 12 July 2025, one of the leading international academic conferences in the field of religious studies.

During the conference, Dr Hamasha organised a specialised scholarly panel dedicated to discussing Imam al-Bukhārī’s methodology in his Ṣaḥīḥ, with the participation of expert researchers from the United Kingdom and Germany. The panel addressed key methodological and epistemological issues related to al-Bukhārī’s work, as well as the impact of his approach on the development of ḥadīth studies and both classical and contemporary Islamic scholarship.

Over the five days of the conference, Dr Hamasha also took part actively in a number of academic sessions and scholarly activities, in addition to dialogue-oriented and social events that contributed to strengthening academic networking and knowledge exchange among researchers from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.

The significance of this participation lies in its reflection of the growing role of specialised Islamic research within European academic platforms, and in underscoring the value of international conferences as vital spaces for shared learning, building research partnerships, and advancing rigorous scholarly discussion.
