Dr Manal M. Bayyat is a leading scholar in sports science, with a strong focus on motivation and its role in physical activity and psychological skills. Her research, grounded in self-determination theory, explores how autonomy, competence, and relatedness influence motivation in sports participation. From enhancing cancer patients' quality of life to improving performance in fencing and swimming, her work highlights the importance of intrinsic motivation for success. Dr Bayyat has authored numerous studies on how teaching methods impact self-esteem and psychological skills in athletes. She has also published books on sports psychology and anxiety-free swimming. Her contributions extend to working with the Jordanian Taekwondo Federation, where her efforts in developing motivation were evident through Olympic achievements. Beyond research, Dr Bayyat plays an active role in academic committees, including the Quality Assurance and Development Committee and the Electronic Learning Committee, where she helps advance academic standards and digital learning. She also supervises graduate theses, fostering the next generation of scholars in sports psychology and motivation research.
