There is a growing interest in incorporating intercultural studies intohigher education curricula, reflecting their increasing relevance in adiverse global society. This research aims to examine the essentialintercultural knowledge and skills required for effectiveengagement with Jordanian communities. The study aimed toanswer the question, “What are the key considerations whendeveloping intercultural communication courses within theJordanian context?” This qualitative, participatory, and exploratorystudy involved seven academics in 2024 who engaged throughmeetings and WhatsApp groups to reflect on the subject, analyzedata, and review findings. Thematic analysis revealed theimportance of understanding cultural and religious dimensions,political and social considerations, and communication styles. Thefindings emphasize the need for sustained cultural competencetraining for future graduates to ensure their ability to engageeffectively with diverse communities and promote inclusive,culturally responsive practices that honor and integrate distinctcultural and religious values.
