Bachelor's Graduation Project:

IRIS RESTAURANT - The University of Jordan's restaurant

I chose this project because it is a significant location within the university, serving as a hub for students and university staff, as well as a venue for welcoming university guests. Its space is very adequate, and its location is highly suitable. It includes three separate and very well-sized sections: one for students, one for university staff, and one for university guests. Restaurant: A building (or a section of a building) in which many types of food are prepared and served to customers according to a list that is presented in advance. It contains the types of meals and drinks offered by the restaurant.

The aim of the project is improving the quality of the interior design of the restaurant to give a direct impression of the taste and quality of the food served by this restaurant, and access to the appropriate design for the service provided by the restaurant in a wonderful and unique way, as it is an initial attraction point for the person to feel comfortable inside the restaurant and repeat the visit over and over again. Here lies the importance of searching for an interior design for restaurants and cafes that meets the need and achieves the economic and service objective of this economic service establishment. The main parameter I focused on is daylighting design. The restaurant has two elevations: one facing north and the other facing west. Therefore, some alterations were made to ensure optimal daylight penetration, both functionally and aesthetically. The project was designed by Bayan Halbouni and supervised by Dr. Eman Mayah, Department of Interior Design.
