Students were welcomed by Ms. Rasha Al-Mahmoud, Assistant Director of the Center, and Mr. Shadi Muammar, Building Supervisor, who introduced them to the center's work. The center is a pioneering institution at the university, responsible for collecting and preserving documents, manuscripts, and records from Sharia courts, Islamic endowments, and newspapers across the Levant. It also archives and documents reports, maps, travelogues, novels, files, memoirs, and photographs, following rigorous scientific methods.
The visit featured fruitful engagement between students and the center's staff, particularly regarding the design, construction, aesthetics, and preservation of cultural heritage. It concluded with a warm and insightful meeting with Professor Dr. Muhammad Adnan Al-Bakhit, Chairman of the Center for Documentation, Manuscripts, and Levantine Studies.
