Joint Research with Greater Amman Municipality Slaughterhouse Department
A collaborative research project was conducted with the Greater Amman Municipality Slaughterhouse Department. Tissue and blood samples from broilers were collected and transported to the College of Agriculture, where they were examined in the group laboratory.
The specific aims of the project were:
This study focused on detecting subclinical infections, including coccidiosis, necrotic enteritis, and Marek's disease, in broiler chickens. The objective was to determine the prevalence of subclinical necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens and Marek's disease.
For C. perfringens, 100 blood samples were collected from 20 intensive poultry broiler farms between June 2020 and September 2020. Intestinal samples were also examined, revealing varying degrees of intestinal lesions, scored on a scale from 0 (normal) to 3 (severe necrosis). Blood samples were analyzed using an ELISA kit to detect antibodies against C. perfringens.
This research contributed valuable insights into the prevalence and pathology of these subclinical infections, with findings published in the International Journal of Veterinary Science. You can access the full paper here.
Dr. Khaled Al Najjar. Science animal clinic. A researcher in Nanoscience technologies
A joint research project is being planned with the private sector in Jordan to explore the anticoccidial effects of some nanoherbal extracts and to explore their effects as alternatives against poultry coccidiosis.
In the moment we are making a trial to make a joint project through Partnership with Pakistan agricultural research council, where we ha have proposed a joint project to be held and started in Pakistan through Dr.Bilal working in the Pakistan agricultural council.
