In order to conduct research on the borrowing of vocabulary from Asian languages, particularly Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, comparative and contrasting studies, and translation studies, we conduct various language collection study through special each language.
Calligraphy Study & Research Group for Chinese, Japanese and Korean
This group research is an important research topic, encompassing a common academic, cultural, and artistic discipline among China, Japan, and Korea. Therefore, Dr. Liu Wenxia and Dr. Wang Dujin will supervise the Chinese language, while Dr. Lee Jung-ae will guide students in Korean and Japanese.
Korean language
In Korean language, the focus is particularly on Tandem Study and special topic in Korean language courses. Tandem Study involve online sessions held two or three times weekly with students from Dankook University in Korea. This group study significantly aids not only in understanding social, cultural, and traditional aspects but also in developing practical and deep Korean vocabulary skills. Special topic in Korean language courses, through research and presentations on diverse vocabulary themes, foster rich vocabulary development while naturally cultivating interest in the research topics pursued by the research group. The translation research component centres on study conducted by the Korean Literature Translation Institute, among others.

As a "central organization opening up a new chapter for Korean literature as a global literature," the Translation Institute is enhancing its support system for the translation and publication of Korean literature, thereby promoting the spread of the Korean Wave and facilitating the international expansion of customized Korean literature. Furthermore, the Institute is strengthening its professional translator training system and establishing a digital infrastructure for Korean literature, striving to enable readers around the world to access and understand Korean literature more quickly and conveniently.
IChinese Language
n Chinese, students gain a deeper understanding of diverse aspects of Chinese society and culture not only through university coursework but also through study at the Chinese Cultural Center and Confucius Institute in Amman. By directly participating in these activities, students naturally interact with Chinese people, improving their vocabulary and developing an interest in research-related vocabulary, thereby developing the skills to engage in active research.
