​This study investigates how Japanese-oriented expressions and purification words are used in online articles to gauge the contemporary characteristics of Japanese-oriented expressions and purification words. Thereby, the vocabulary of Japanese-oriented expressions terminology purification data collection (2014) is classified according to the inflow form and purification degree. The overall inflow of kanji was used because of the large number of Japanese-oriented expressions. Most Japanese pronunciation and foreign words used pureized words or other vocabulary. In particular, both Japanese-oriented expressions and pure words were often not used for the definitive term of purity. If purifying words have already been established, it is desirable to add new Japanese-oriented expressions. Moreover, some vocabulary words were difficult to use or semantically could not be used in place of the target Japanese-oriented expressions. In the future, the latest purification language collection should require a preliminary investigation of the recognition, understanding, and utilization rate of each vocabulary. It is necessary to further comparatively investigate the usage patterns by media and genre as well as usage based on data such as dramas, daily conversations, corpus, and Internet articles.​​
