Dr. Bayan AlAmmouri is a Lecturer in the English Language and Literature Department at the University of Jordan and is the Primary Investigator in this Research Group. She holds degrees from North Dakota State University and Lancaster University. Her research focuses on the intersection of technology and literature, particularly in the contexts of neoliberalism and refugee studies, while her broader interests include postcolonial studies, diaspora, and Palestinian literature.
Dr. AlAmmouri’s work examines how digital tools, mapping, and AI shape memory, storytelling, and cultural narratives, with a particular focus on Palestinian experiences and refugee contexts. She has conducted original fieldwork, including interviews and memorographic studies, and has presented her findings at numerous academic conferences. Her research also engages with the implications of algorithmic governance and technological mediation in contemporary literature and society.
Her most recent publication, "Gaming the System: The Gamification of Refugees," appeared in Interventions: International Journal of Postcolonial Studies (November 2025).
