About:

BOUKSILA is a professor at the Research Laboratory of the Valorization of Non-Conventional Waters, National Institute for Research in Rural Engineering, Water, and Forestry (INRGREF), Tunisia. For about 25 years, his research interests have included smart irrigation and soil management, and he participated in the development of the methodology, currently used in arid Tunisia, for assessment of soil salinisation risks level in the irrigated districts.  He also focussed on the use of geophysical methods for soil moisture and salinity measurements for better soil salinity prediction, water and solute modeling under field conditions. He coordinated and participated in about 14 national and international research/development projects on the soil fertility and water conservation, valorization of marginal water in agriculture as well as the use of smart irrigation for sustainable irrigated agriculture under salinity pressure and climate change. He published his research in high impact scientific journals and in book chapters.  He is a part-time teacher at Laboratory of Modelling in Hydraulics and Environment, National Engineering School of Tunis (ENIT).
