ABUALHAIJA is an Environmental Sciences Associate Professor and Researcher at the Water, Energy, and Environment Center at the University of Jordan. He received his PhD in Environmental Sciences/Environmental Chemistry from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom. With an extensive professional background spanning over a decade in environmental sciences, DR. ABUALHAIJA possesses specialized expertise in water resources management, environmental pollution, biogeochemistry of natural waters, trace elements (heavy metals) and nutrients in natural waters, chemical speciation of trace elements in the environment, water quality, wastewater pollutant, and environmental impact assessment. He has been extensively involved in and led many local, regional, and international academic and research activities. He also has a significant publication record in environmental sciences and environmental chemistry.​
