About:

SHAMMOUT is an associate researcher in the Water, Energy and Environment Center (WEEC) at The University of Jordan (UJ). She holds her PhD in Agricultural Resources and Environment in the field of surface water hydrology and land use/land cover. She has over 14 years of research experience in the fields of water resources management, sustainability and optimization, environmental conservation, water bioremediation, hydrologic applications, river basin modeling for watershed analysis and management, and integrated water resources management (IWRM). She has led and participated in European, USAID and CIDA projects such as CrITERIA-ERANETMED, SRTD-II, OPTIMA, MELIA, SOWAMED, and GEWAMED. She led other projects with local funding from the Abdul Hameed Shoman Fund for Supporting Scientific Research, and the Scientific Research and Innovation Support Fund- Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the areas of water resources management and sustainability, water quality and bioremediation. She has more than 50 refereed publications and many technical reports at the level of international and local research cooperation, and has participated in many committees of international conferences and workshops related to water resources management and protection.​
