3. Activating “do it بالعربي” by Jehad al Ameri and University Students

Jehad al Ameri, head of the Visual Arts department in the faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Jordan, together with his students, will discuss their experiences in activating several “do it بالعربي” instructions over the course of the summer. Instructions activated are by artists Adel Abidin, Amir Nour, Etel Adnan and Ziad Antar.

4. Lost Shadow

The exhibition "Lost Shadow 2020" by artist Jihad Al-Amri presents a profound artistic experience characterized by delicacy and emotional intensity, blending various techniques with intellectual and philosophical themes. Inspired by Andalusian heritage, which influenced him during his studies in Spain, Al-Amri captures a fusion of reality and imagination in his paintings, using a harmonious color palette that reflects the balance between form and meaning. The woman emerges as a central element in his works, symbolizing love, generosity, and the continuity of life, while other elements, such as ornaments, calligraphy, and chairs, contribute to a visual composition that revives the forgotten memory of Arab culture. Masterfully employing graphic and painting techniques, Al-Amri achieves a distinctive artistic presence, demonstrating complete command over his tools and creating a poetic and visually immersive experience that echoes his rich cultural heritage.
