Dr. Ihab Abu Hannoud was born in Dubai. He graduated with first-class honors in Interior Design from An-Najah University (Palestine). He earned a Master's degree in Contemporary Palestinian Furniture Design from Helwan University (Egypt) in 2006 and a Ph.D. in Kindergarten Design from the University of Nottingham (United Kingdom) in 2013. Dr. Abu Hannoud worked as a designer at Giad Company (Saudi Arabia) from 2002 to 2003. He also served as a lecturer in the Interior Design Department at Al-Ahliyya Amman University (Jordan) between 2006 and 2008. Currently, Dr. Ihab is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts at An-Najah National University in Nablus, Palestine.
Since joining An-Najah National University in 2009, he has taught numerous courses and held significant administrative roles, including Head of the Applied Arts Department (2020–2021), Coordinator of the Food Design Program (2016–2021), and Coordinator for Fashion Design and Game Design programs until their inauguration in 2022. He has participated in numerous local and international exhibitions and specializes in contemporary Palestinian furniture design and the design and licensing of kindergartens. Dr. Ihab has also served as a jury member for Expo Dubai 2020 and the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, as well as an advisor to various non-governmental organizations and institutions.
Throughout his academic and research career, Dr. Ihab has co-authored numerous studies focusing on contemporary Palestinian furniture, the development of the local furniture industry, the utilization of advanced technologies and materials, furniture recycling, and designing furniture to address disaster needs.
