About:

​Dr. Jehad Al-Amiri,  is an academic and artist specializing in fine arts and visual arts. As an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Arts and Design at The University of Jordan, Dr. Al-Amiri has built an illustrious career in the Visual Arts Department. He holds a Ph.D. in Fine Arts from the University of Granada, Spain (2013), a Master's in Visual Arts from Yarmouk University, Jordan (2010), and a Bachelor's in Visual Arts from the University of Baghdad, Iraq (2002).

Dr. Al-Amiri’s academic and artistic pursuits focus on the intersection of art history, interdisciplinary arts, engraving and printing, and drawing and painting. His Ph.D. dissertation, "The Image of Poetry in Modern Jordanian Art," presents a groundbreaking analysis of poetry's influence on contemporary Jordanian painting and graphic art. In addition to his scholarly contributions, Dr. Al-Amiri is a celebrated artist, known for his extensive exhibitions and innovative techniques that blend traditional themes with modern artistic expression.

Throughout his career, Dr. Al-Amiri has held prominent administrative roles, including Deputy Dean for Administrative and Academic Affairs and Head of the Visual Arts Department. He has also served on numerous academic committees, contributed to international conferences, and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on topics ranging from contemporary Arab art to the integration of poetry and visual language. His exceptional artistic achievements have earned him prestigious awards, such as the Dubai Cultural Award for Creativity and the Jamal Badran Award.
