Prof. Dr. Zeyad Makhamreh / Department of Geography - University of Jordan

 

Professor Makhamreh works in the Geography department at the University of Jordan. He got BSc. in 1992 in agricultural science with a focus on soil and irrigation from the University of Jordan. Then he earned a master's degree in 1996 in the field of natural resource management and land use analysis from the faculty of Agriculture at the University of Jordan. The Ph.D. degree was earned in 2006 from Trier University – Germany. The doctoral degree was a specialist in applied environmental science, particularly in land degradation assessment and land use change in Jordan. Prof. Makhamreh has a long-time experience in the fields of land degradation, natural resources management, and environmental monitoring. He has acquired extensive expertise in various aspects of applied environmental science. His research focus lies on applied remote sensing in climatic change assessments, watershed management, monitoring of land degradation, and land use changes. He has many publications in international Journals and conferences in the field of land degradation, land use change, and watershed management.​
