Resources

Our lab is well-equipped with a variety of advanced instruments and resources essential for conducting cutting-edge research in natural products:

High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
HPLC is a vital tool for separating, identifying, and quantifying components in complex mixtures. It is particularly useful in isolating and analyzing bioactive compounds from natural sources.

Gas Chromatography-Flame Ionization Detection (GC-FID)
GC-FID is employed to analyze volatile and semi-volatile compounds. This technique is essential for studying essential oils and other natural products with volatile components.

Stability Chamber
Our stability chamber provides controlled environmental conditions to assess the stability of natural products over time. This is crucial for determining the shelf life and efficacy of these compounds under various conditions.

UV Spectrophotometer
The UV spectrophotometer is used for measuring the absorbance and concentration of compounds in the UV and visible spectrum. It is an essential tool for quantitative analysis and identifying the presence of specific natural products.

High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC)
HPTLC allows for the separation, identification, and quantification of compounds on a thin layer of adsorbent material. This technique is cost-effective and high-throughput, making it ideal for screening multiple samples simultaneously.

Rotavapors
Rotary evaporators (rotavapors) are used for the efficient removal of solvents under reduced pressure. This is a key step in concentrating extracts and preparing samples for further analysis.

Freeze Dryer (Lyophilizer)
Our freeze dryer is used to remove moisture from samples by sublimation, preserving their integrity and stability. This is particularly important for preparing samples for long-term storage or further testing.

Flash Chromatography System (Buchi)
The Flash chromatography system from Buchi enables rapid and efficient purification of complex mixtures. This system is essential for isolating specific compounds from natural product extracts.

Various Extraction Equipment
We have a range of extraction equipment to efficiently extract bioactive compounds from natural sources. This includes Soxhlet extractors, ultrasonic extractors, and supercritical fluid extractors, which allow us to utilize different extraction techniques depending on the nature of the sample and target compounds.

These resources collectively support our comprehensive research efforts in natural products, enabling us to conduct detailed analyses and develop innovative solutions in ethnopharmacology, nutraceutical quality control, antimicrobial studies, nanotechnology applications, and antinephrolithiatic research.
