Partnerships

Our partners are:

1. Qasid Arabic Institute

Qasid is an institute located in Amman, Jordan, where non-Arabic speakers (especially western students) learn Arabic as a foreign language. We are partnering with this institute because we need to gather data from speakers of other languages who are learning Arabic in order to investigate the mechanisms and developmental stages of the acquisition of Arabic by non-native speakers and how Arabic is constructed in their minds. Dr. Noor Al-Omyan, who is a member in our research group, works at Qasid, so she will help us with the data collection and analysis.

2. Khalid bin Alwaleed Secondary School

Khalid bin Alwaleed is a public school located in Jerash, Jordan, where Arabic and English are taught to Jordanian students as a first and second/foreign language, respectively. We selected this school because we need to study how Jordanian students acquire Arabic versus English and how the structures of the two languages emerge, evolve, and functions in their minds. Ali Khader Qaimeh, who is a member in our research group, is an ESL teacher at this school, so he will assist us with collecting and analyzing data.
