Our group started to work on two rsearch papers: one on A-bar movement in Jordanian Arabic and the other on Case marking in Standard Arabic. In this first project, we will examine the licensing of fronting wh- or focused subjects to the left periphery in Jordanian Arabic complex sentences. In the second project, on the other hand, we will investigate the possiblity of double Case marking in Standard Arabic with reference to the phase theory.
