Wafi Alshammari is an associate professor of Linguistics in the department of English, University of Ha'il, Saudi Arabia. He earned his PhD in Linguistics from Indiana University-Bloomington. His research interests include Sociolinguistics with special emphasis on Arabic Dialectology, Arabic-based Pidgins and Creoles,

Language Variation and Change, and Arabic Phonology and Morphology.
