Dr. Mohammad Alhailawani associate professor in Linguistics at the University of Petra, Amman, Jordan. He got his Ph.D. at Queen Mary University of London, and has a BA and MA from Jordan University of Science & Technology. Dr. Alhailawani's research interests focus on formal (minimalist) syntax. He works on issues in comparative syntax, Semitic morphosyntax, and the syntax-morphology interface. Currently, He is working on several issues, such as the architecture of the determiner phrase, the count-mass distinction, ellipsis phenomena in general, the morphosyntax of overt and silent adpotions, the syntax and semantics of impersonal pronouns, and the morphosyntax of manner of motion verbs from a cross-linguistic perspective. Dr. Alhailawani has published papers in prestigious journals, such as Glossa, Studia Linguistica, Candaian Journal of Linguistics, and Word.
