​Department of Statistics

 

The partnership between the Department of Statistics (DoS) and the Department of Geography at The University of Jordan is a mutually beneficial collaboration that enhances geographic and statistical research in Jordan.  

The Department of Geography provides the Department of Statistics with accurate and reliable geographical data that supports various statistical processes, such as population censuses and field surveys. It also contributes to developmental planning and the development and updating of statistical maps, which helps improve the accuracy of the geographical distribution of the population and other data.​

Higher Population Council


The Higher Population Council (HPC) serves as the national authority responsible for providing the Department of Geography with essential demographic data to support population-related research and studies.

(HPC) benefits from demographic studies in the Department of Geography by providing information and analyses on the geographical distribution of the population, demographic trends in different areas, and the impact of geographical factors on development. The partnership between the Royal Jordanian Geographic Center and the Department of Geography at The University of Jordan is a significant collaboration that enhances cooperation in the field of geography and its applications. 
This partnership may include knowledge exchange, joint research initiatives, training programs, and the implementation of collaborative projects in geography, thereby strengthening the role of geography in supporting economic, social, and environmental development.

The Royal Jordanian Geographic Center benefits from the studies and research conducted in the Department of Geography by providing accurate and up-to-date information and data on various aspects of the environment and society, which supports decision-making and the development of sustainable development plans. The partnership between the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and the Department of Geography focuses on leveraging geographic expertise to identify development needs and allocate resources efficiently, while coordinating efforts in formulating development plans and strategies.

The Department of Geography contributes by providing essential geospatial data and indicators to assess regional development requirements, including: Population distribution, Natural resource availability, Infrastructure coverage, Levels of economic development.

The partnership between the Ministry of Water and Irrigation and the Department of Geography combines geographic expertise with water resource management to enhance Jordan's water sustainability strategies.

National Center for Security & Crisis Management


The National Center for Security and Crisis Management benefits from the Geography Department at the university by providing expertise and specialized skills in spatial data analysis, mapping, and understanding geographical phenomena related to disasters and crises. The Geography Department also contributes to the construction of comprehensive national databases and information, the development of crisis forecasting models, and the training of specialized personnel in crisis management. Jordan Meteorological Department

 

Jordan Meteorological Department and the Department of Geography are two distinct, yet related, entities. The Department of Geography is an academic department that studies natural and human phenomena on the Earth's surface, including climate and weather.

The relationship between the National Agricultural Research Center and the Department of Geography is complementary and important, as each complements the other in achieving sustainable development goals in the agricultural sector. And direct images of the products of these satellites are published, such as monitoring dust, fog, air masses, thunderstorms, and others. The site also provides live broadcasts of lightnings in the regions of the Arab world and their places of occurrence.

Arab Weather benefits from the academic expertise of the Geography Department in the field of meteorology and climate data analysis. Collaboration can take place on joint research projects regarding climate change and its impact on the environment and society. This collaboration contributes to raising awareness about the importance of meteorology and climate change through lectures and joint events.
