Introductory Meeting for the Job Market Readiness Program Pre-Graduation
The Department of Geography at the University of Jordan held a special program for the job market on Monday, February 24, 2025, in the Al-Farahidi Auditorium, attended by faculty members and students who are expected to graduate from the Geography Department. The details of the Job Market Readiness Program courses 1 and 2 were discussed, which aim to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully enter the job market. This course focuses on developing a set of core competencies that graduates need to excel in a competitive work environment. The primary importance of this course lies in bridging the gap between theoretical studies and the actual requirements of the job market. Many graduates lack the practical and applied skills that enable them to quickly adapt to a new work environment. Therefore, the Job Market Readiness course seeks to provide students with the tools and skills required for this smooth transition.During this meeting, several key points were discussed concerning the essential skills and tools that graduating students should possess before entering the job market. These include nine main topics:1. Introduction to Geography and the Job Market2. Specialized Training Course titled "Business Model/BMS"
The Department of Geography organized a specialized training course titled "Business Model/BMS" on Monday and Tuesday, May 19 and 20, in the Al-Farahidi Auditorium. The event was attended by Dr. Hind Al-Sarayra, Head of the Geography Department, Dr. Ibrahim Farhan, Dr. Safaa Al-Wadyan, and Dr. Wisam Al-Haik. The course aimed to equip students with the necessary skills to prepare for the job market by familiarizing them with the established methods for project preparation, the components of a business model, as well as financial planning and the study of future financial forecasts for various projects. It is noteworthy that this course was organized by the Idrisi Club, which serves as the main link between the Geography Department and civil society institutions, enhancing efforts for academic and developmental collaboration.
