Scientific Visit to the Arab Weather Center

​In 17/5/2025, The Department of Geography at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Jordan today, in coordination with the Idreesi Student Club, organized a scientific visit to the Arab Weather Center, which is part of the Majmouat Ard Company for weather forecasting.

The visit aimed, with the participation of the head of the department, Dr. Hind Sarayrah, Dr. Wisam Hayek, Dr. Hiba Al-Khasawneh, and Dr. Safaa Al-Wadyan, along with several students from the Idreesi Club, to learn about the nature of the center's work in the field of weather forecasting, gain insights into the components of the weather observation station, and understand how to read various climate maps. Additionally, the visit included information on the training courses offered in various disciplines.

During the visit, coordinated by Dr. Ibrahim Farhan, a faculty member of the department, several topics were discussed, notably those related to the career days held by various faculties of the university and their importance in raising students' awareness of the available job opportunities in the labor market. The importance of students enrolling in diverse courses that enhance their language and professional skills, refine their personalities, and boost their competencies and experiences was also emphasized, enabling them to enter the job market with confidence and meet its demands.

Several officials at the center provided a range of advice and guidance to the students expected to graduate, emphasizing the importance of holding on to their ambitions and aspirations, and persevering to achieve them in reality, as this significantly impacts their focus in their field of knowledge and academic specialization, thereby enhancing their employability in the labor market. They also highlighted the professional diploma offered by the center in the field of meteorology, consisting of 300 theoretical and practical hours over nine months
