Hussam Hesham Al-Bilbisi is a Professor of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at the University of Jordan, with extensive expertise in environmental and geospatial analysis. He holds a Ph.D. in Remote Sensing and GIS from Chiba University, Japan, where he also conducted postdoctoral research at the Center for Environmental Remote Sensing (CEReS). His academic journey includes degrees in Earth and Environmental Sciences from Yarmouk University, Jordan.Dr. Al-Bilbisi's research focuses on utilizing GIS and remote sensing for environmental studies, land degradation monitoring, image processing, and digital map creation. His scholarly contributions encompass numerous publications on climate change, land use dynamics, and geospatial modeling. In addition to his academic roles, he has served as a geotechnical engineer and consultant, contributing to major infrastructure projects such as Karameh Dam in Jordan.Beyond his research, Al-Bilbisi actively engages in community education, offering training in remote sensing and GIS applications for both students and professionals. He is also a member of editorial boards and a peer reviewer for leading geospatial journals.
