​Iain Simpson Stewart is a Scottish geologist who is currently Jordan-UK El Hassan bin Talal Research Chair in Sustainability at the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) in Jordan and holds a UNESCO Chair in Geoscience and Society at the University of Plymouth (UK), best known to the public as the presenter of a number of BBC science television programmes and as a global champion of the Earth Sciences.​
