Taghreed Al-Maaytah is the Director of the Environmental Directorate at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA). She holds a Master’s degree in Environment and Geology Science from the University of Jordan (1997) and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Environmental and Applied Geology at the University of Jordan.

With 25 years of versatile experience in the public sector, she has specialized in various environmental, health, and safety issues. Her extensive involvement in projects supported by the Union for the Mediterranean, particularly in the blue economy component, showcases her commitment to sustainable development.

Moreover, Taghreed served as an adjunct instructor at the University of Jordan in Aqaba from 2010 to 2018, teaching marine environment topics. She is currently the National Coordination Specialist in PESRGA for the Blue Economy Project, titled "Approach for Harnessing Marine Ecosystem Services and Transforming to Sustainable Blue Economy in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden."

Her contributions and leadership in environmental sustainability and blue economy initiatives underline her significant role in fostering a sustainable future for the region.
