Dr. Fadel ElZubi is the Former Head of Mission of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations. Dr. Elzubi is an expert in addressing critical issues on food security, rural and agricultural development, emergency programs and resilience in critical times and places in the countries of the Arab region.
Dr. Fadel El-Zubi is a distinguished expert in food security, rural and agricultural development, and emergency programs, particularly within the Arab region. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Mosul, Iraq, and both a Master's and Ph.D. in Crisis Management from the University of the Pacific in California.
In his role as the former Head of Mission for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, Dr. El-Zubi was instrumental in addressing critical issues related to food security and agricultural development. His work focused on providing humanitarian aid to displaced individuals and refugees affected by crises and vulnerable to food insecurity. He is recognized for fostering partnerships among international organizations, the private sector, civil society, political entities, tribal leaders, and government agencies to maintain food security during critical times.
Dr. El-Zubi's contributions have been particularly impactful in Iraq, where he emphasized the importance of national food security in alignment with FAO's global objectives. He has participated in events such as the International Day of Forests, highlighting the significance of sustainable practices in achieving food security.
