Objectives: The study aimed to identify the role of social work in promoting effective parental treatment of social problems of adolescents with their families, school and peer groups. Methods: The study relied on a qualitative method and was conducted on a sample of 14 social workers in three institutions that provide social services to adolescent children and their families in Amman. The workers were asked about the role of social work in promoting effective parenting styles with adolescents. Group interviews were conducted to collect the data. Results: The study found that social work aligns with recommended social theories and literature to address adolescent issues within their families, schools, and peer groups. This role is exemplified through specialized programs aimed at enhancing parents' skills in effective socialization and positive interaction during different developmental stages of adolescence. Additionally, social work focuses on strengthening emotional bonds between teenagers and their parents, promoting open dialogue, and increasing awareness in problem-solving for issues with adolescents, as well as academic challenges and negative peer pressures. The goal is to foster a positive relationship between adolescents and their parents, promoting the acquisition of moral and educational values for social harmony within the broader community. Conclusions: The study concluded that it is necessary to shed light on the importance of the role of social worker in family counseling sessions through the purposeful constructive media, and to activate the role of the audio-visual and readable media on raising the level of parents' skills in dealing with adolescents.
