Demographic situation in Jordan: socioeconomic implications.

The Department of Sociology, led by Dr. Maissa Al-Rawashdeh at the Faculty of Arts, collaborated with the Departments of Social Work and Geography to host a symposium titled "The Demographic Landscape in Jordan." The event featured Dr. Issa Masarweh, Secretary-General of the Higher Population Council, as the keynote speaker, addressing pressing demographic challenges and their socioeconomic implications. The symposium concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where Dr. Issa Masarweh addressed various questions and inquiries from the attendees. This interactive segment allowed the audience—which included heads of departments, teaching and administrative staff, and students—to delve deeper into the demographic issues presented.
Masarweh’s responses provided clarity on key topics and helped participants better understand the implications of Jordan's demographic changes on social, economic, and political landscapes. This concluding exchange underscored the symposium’s role in fostering dialogue and collaboration on critical national issues.
