Code of ethics in social work

Dr. Ann Alnajdwi and Prof. Rula Al-Sawalqa participated in the presentation of two significant academic papers, each focusing on critical issues in the fields of social work and emotional management.
Dr. Ann Alnajdwi discussed the importance of the Code of Ethics in Social Work, emphasizing its essential role in ensuring that practitioners act with professionalism, compassion, and responsibility. This ethical framework is crucial for enhancing the quality of services and promoting positive outcomes for individuals and communities. Dr. Alnajdwi also highlighted the specific challenges associated with applying the Jordanian Ethical Code of Practice in social work. These challenges arise from the intersection of cultural, social, and institutional factors that create complex ethical dilemmas. However, Dr. Alnajdwi proposed strategies to overcome these challenges, stressing the need to align social work practices with professional standards while adapting to the local context.
Meanwhile, Prof. Rula Al-Sawalqa addressed the critical issue of emotional management among academic staff and social workers. Prof. Al-Sawalqa emphasized the importance of emotional regulation in maintaining professional conduct, preventing burnout, and fostering a supportive work environment. Her research sheds light on how emotional management plays a pivotal role in improving the well-being of professionals and the quality of service they provide to the community. Together, their presentations provided valuable insights into the professional and emotional challenges faced by social workers and academic staff, offering practical solutions for improving both practice and well-being.
