Strategic Collaborations and Partnerships

The Sustainable Digital Design and Architecture Intelligence (SDDAI) research group thrives on a multi-disciplinary approach, bridging the gap between advanced academic research and practical industry application. Our impact is driven by strategic alliances across three key sectors:

1. Government Sector

We collaborate with public authorities to support national agendas for digital transformation and urban sustainability.

  • Greater Amman Municipality (GAM): Our partnership focuses on Smart City initiatives and sustainable urban planning. By leveraging AI-driven data analytics, we provide frameworks to optimize energy efficiency and carbon footprint reduction in public infrastructure, aligning with Jordan’s commitment to "Net-Zero" goals.

  • Policy & Standards Development: We offer consultancy to governmental bodies to integrate digital design protocols and sustainable building codes into national housing and infrastructure projects.

2. Private Sector & Professional Bodies

We actively engage with the local industry and professional syndicates to foster innovation in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry.

  • Professional Syndicates: In collaboration with the Jordan Engineers Association (JEA) and the Jordan Interior Designers Association (JIDA), we work on elevating professional standards by introducing computational design tools, AI-integration workshops, and sustainable material certifications.

  • Industry Leaders (Maani & Istitiya): * Maani: We partner in the field of Digital Fabrication and smart furniture solutions, exploring how AI can optimize manufacturing processes and spatial functionality.

    • Istitiya: Our collaboration focuses on high-end interior and architectural design, utilizing generative design workflows to achieve aesthetic excellence coupled with environmental performance.

3. International Partnership

The SDDAI group maintains a global outlook through high-level academic exchange and joint research ventures.

  • University of Sheffield (UK): As a core international partner, we collaborate on advanced research regarding Environmental Performance Simulation and Digital Architecture. This partnership facilitates knowledge exchange, joint scientific publications, and the development of scalable technological solutions to global climate challenges.

  • Global Research Consortiums: We participate in international funding bids and cross-border research projects, aligning our outputs with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the realms of resilient infrastructure and sustainable innovation.
