Dr Sherly Meilianti is a registered pharmacist from Indonesia, passionate about global health, in particular the professional development of healthcare workers. She obtained my PhD degree from UCL School of Pharmacy in analysis and transformation of the pharmacy workforce in Indonesia.
Dr Meilianti worked as the head of the pharmacy department in a hospital for four years, where she supervised pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing pharmacy services in the hospital. Due to her interest in providing patient care services, she decided to take a master's degree in Clinical Pharmacy, International Practice and Policy at UCL School of Pharmacy. After completing her master, this is where Dr Meilianti decided to pursue a doctorate in pharmacy workforce development. Dr Sherly has been leading an initiative for the Workforce Transformation Programme (WTP) in Indonesia - a partnership between the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (IAI) and International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), in advancing pharmacy practice in Indonesia.Dr Meilainti been involved in voluntary activities within the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), the global body representing over 4 million pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists. She was the FIP Young Pharmacists Group (YPG) academic liaison in 2018, the 2019 Project coordinator and the 2020 FIP YPG President. During her involvement, Dr Meilianti has been leading several projects and programmes to support involved members.Apart from being involved in the FIP YPG, Dr Meilainti is also the FIP liaison for the WHO Global Health Workforce Network Youth Hub Steering Committee, which is an intersectoral, inter-professional community of practice to drive youth-inclusive policy locally, nationally, regionally and globally. She is leading the development of Advocacy Toolkit on Youth in the Health and Social Care Workforce.Dr Meilianti has worked as the FIP Research Analyst, where she assisted the FIP Lead for Workforce Transformation Programme to develop the FIP Global Advanced Development Framework (GADF), a tool to support the advancement of the profession.
