Dr. Asmaa Al-Haqan is a distinguished clinical lecturer at the College of Pharmacy, Kuwait University, where she specializes in competency development and innovative teaching strategies. With a deep commitment to advancing pharmacy education, she has made significant contributions both as an educator and leader.
She holds a BPharm degree from Kuwait University, earned in 2004, and expanded her expertise with an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy from University College London (UCL) in 2013. Additionally, she pursued an MSc in Diabetes Care and Education from Dundee University in 2015, before completing a PhD in Pharmacy Education from UCL in 2020.
Beyond academia, Dr. Al-Haqan plays a crucial role in fostering professional growth among pharmacists. She co-founded the Kuwait Association for Continuing Professional Development for Pharmacists, where she serves as General Secretary. Her involvement extends to the global stage as the Global Lead for the FIP Workforce Development Hub’s DG2 initiative, focusing on early career training strategies for healthcare professionals.
Her leadership in pharmacy education aims to empower both novice and experienced pharmacists through continuous learning and innovative methodologies. Dr. Al-Haqan’s dedication to advancing healthcare performance through education underlines her influence on both local and international pharmacy practice.
