Leadership Training for Pharmacists

On 3 August 2024, Dr. Saja Alnahar led a specialised training session for pharmacists on leadership skills at the Jordan Pharmacists Association (JPA) Training Centre. The session was designed with the sole aim of empowering pharmacists, enhancing their leadership and management capabilities, and equipping them with essential skills for confidently navigating the complexities of modern healthcare environments.

The training covered several core aspects of leadership and management, including the concept of organisation and team dynamics. Dr. Alnahar emphasised the importance of understanding how organisations function and how to foster effective teamwork to achieve optimal outcomes. Participants were also introduced to the most influential leadership and management theories, gaining insights into different styles and approaches that can be adapted to various professional settings.

A particular focus was on motivation theory, exploring how pharmacists can inspire their teams and create a productive and positive work environment. Additionally, the session delved into emotional intelligence, a critical component of effective leadership. Dr. Alnahar highlighted the significance of self-awareness, empathy, and interpersonal skills in successfully building strong professional relationships and leading teams.

This training is part of JPA’s continuous and unwavering efforts to support professional development among pharmacists, ensuring they are well-prepared and valued to assume leadership roles in healthcare.
