Dr. Aseel Zibin, Dr. Sumaya Daoud, and Dr. Abdel Rahman Mitib Altakhaineh, from the Department of English Language and Literature, published a research paper in the renowned journal Folia Linguistica (Scopus and Web of Science indexed journal), titled “Indexical meanings of the realization of /sˤ/ ص as [s] س in spoken and written Jordanian Arabic: a language change in progress?"; their study appears in vol. 58, no. 2, 2024, on pages 267-290.
Dr. Aseel Zibin and Dr. Abdel Rahman Mitib Altakhaineh also collaborated with two colleagues from the School of Law, Dr. Amal Abuanzeh & Dr. Ahmad Ali Kabbaha, and published a research paper titled “Jordanians' Perceptions and Attitudes Toward the Amended Cyber Crime Law in Jordan: A Visual and Multimodal Analysis" in International Journal for the Semiotics of Law - Revue internationale de Sémiotique juridique (Scopus indexed journal).
Dr. Abdel Rahman Altakhaineh and Dr. Aseel Zibin, in collaboration with PhD candidate Lama Khalifah, have published the first study on semantic variation and change in Arabic. Their research, titled “A Horn of Pepper or a Head of Onion: An Analysis of Semantic Variation of Classifiers in Jordanian Spoken Arabic from a Cognitive Sociolinguistic Approach," appears in Languages (Scopus), vol. 9, no. 8, 2024, 270.
