About:

Dr. Wisam Hazimeh is an assistant professor of political science with a deep interest in the interplay between religion, civil society, and non-state actors in the Middle East. His research explores how religious communities influence political life, governance, and social transformation, with a particular focus on Jordan. Dr. Hazimeh combines comparative political analysis, case studies, and theoretical frameworks to understand the dynamics of democratization, electoral processes, and human rights in contexts where informal networks intersect with formal institutions. Beyond research, he has led multiple academic projects, organized conferences, and contributed actively to scholarly and public discussions on governance and social change.
