Abstract

This paper presents a conceptual framework for SME growth through the integration of AI and e-commerce technologies, grounded in a “Data-First, Customer-Always" philosophy. As digital transformation accelerates globally, SMEs face unprecedented opportunities and challenges in leveraging data-driven technologies to achieve sustainable competitive advantage. This study synthesizes contemporary research on technopreneurship, AI adoption, and customer-centric business models to propose a four-pillar growth framework comprising: (1) Data-driven strategy development, (2) Customer-centric operations, (3) Agile innovation processes, and (4) Platform integration capabilities. Drawing from empirical evidence across emerging markets and established economies, the framework addresses critical gaps in SME digital transformation literature by providing both theoretical foundations and practical implementation guidelines. The model emphasizes the centrality of customer data in driving business decisions while maintaining operational agility through AI-powered automation and e-commerce platform integration. Key contributions include a structured approach to technopreneurial capability development, actionable strategies for overcoming digital adoption barriers, and evidence-based recommendations for policy makers and business practitioners. The framework's applicability spans diverse industry sectors and geographical contexts, with particular relevance for emerging market technopreneurs seeking scalable growth solutions. This research contributes to the intersection of entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and innovation management literature while providing tangible value for SME practitioners navigating the complexities of AI-driven business evolution.
