Our laboratory is well-equipped with basic and advanced tools and resources that support a wide range of research activities in biochemistry and in cell and molecular biology. It is important to highlight our willingness and openness for researcher to use whatever research capabilities we possess and we offer our expertise and knowledge.
The following equipment and facilities are available:
Inverted Microscope (Leica): Used for visualizing cells and documenting results from assays such as migration, invasion, and motility. This high-end microscope allows precise observation and imaging, essential for cellular analysis.
Microplate Reader (Synergy HTX): A versatile instrument capable of measuring absorbance, fluorescence, and luminescence signals. It is equipped with various filters, enabling it to perform a wide array of assays for high-throughput screening and quantification.
Thermal Cycler (C1000 Bio-Rad): Utilized for PCR and other DNA/RNA amplification protocols. This thermal cycler enables precise temperature control for accurate sample processing during molecular biology experiments.
-80°C Freezer: Dedicated to preserving cells and biological samples such as RNA, proteins, and other critical materials that require long-term storage at ultra-low temperatures.
Centrifuge (Centurion Scientific): Equipped with rotors for 50 mL conical tubes, 15 mL conicals, and 1.5 mL Eppendorf tubes. This centrifuge is capable of being cooled, ensuring the preservation of biological samples during centrifugation processes.
PCR Cabinet (ESCO): Primarily used for various extraction protocols. The laminar flow ensures a sterile environment, minimizing contamination risks during nucleic acid extraction and other sensitive procedures.
Autoclave: This essential device is used for sterilizing lab consumables, media, glassware, and specific solutions, ensuring a contamination-free environment for cell culture and molecular biology work.
Fume Hood: Safely houses chemicals in solution form that are corrosive or hazardous. This hood ensures proper ventilation and containment, providing safety for laboratory personnel during chemical handling.
Cell Culture Room: The dedicated cell culture facility features a laminar flow cabinet (ESCO Class II) for sterile work, along with a microcentrifuge for small volume centrifugation, such as RNA extraction, and a spinner. The room is specifically designed to maintain sterility and protect cell cultures from contamination.
Distilled Water Machine (ThermoScientific): Provides high-purity distilled water for various laboratory protocols, ensuring reagent quality and consistency in experimental results.
