Dr. Mamoun Ahram is a professor of molecular, cellular, and cancer biology at the School of Medicine, The University of Jordan.  He holds a bachelor's degree in microbiology with a minor degree in biochemistry from Arizona State University (1993, USA) and a Ph.D. degree in Cancer Biology from Wayne State University (1999, USA).  He received research training at the National Cancer Institute (1999-2002) and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (2002-2004).  He was Director of the Biorepository and Biospecimens Research Unit and Head of the Proteomics Laboratory at Jordan's King Hussein Institute for Biotechnology and Cancer (2009-2011). He was also Head of the Office of Research at Jordan University Hospital (2014-2018).  He established productive research laboratories at two Schools of Medicine, Mutah University and the University of Jordan. He has been involved in several research disciplines related to cancer, cellular, and molecular biology, multiple sclerosis, proteomics, and biobanking and research ethics. He is now involved in exciting research related to the role of androgens in breast cancer, non-coding RNA particularly microRNA and circular RNA, and research ethics and biobanking in the Arab region.  He has published over 100 research articles, review articles, and book chapters and has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences.  Prof. Ahram has a lifetime goal of establishing a civilization thorough the good practice of scientific research.

الدكتور مأمون أهرام هو أستاذ علم الأحياء الجزيئي والخلوي والسرطان في كلية الطب، الجامعة الأردنية. حصل على درجة البكالوريوس في علم الأحياء الدقيقة مع درجة ثانوية في الكيمياء الحيوية من جامعة ولاية أريزونا (1993، الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية) ودرجة الدكتوراه في بيولوجيا السرطان من جامعة واين ستيت (1999، الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية). حصل على تدريب بحثي في المعهد الوطني للسرطان (1999-2002) ومن ثم المختبر الوطني لشمال غرب المحيط الهادئ (2002-2004). وكان مديرًا لوحدة أبحاث البنك الحيوي  ورئيسًا لمختبر البروتيوميات في معهد الملك الحسين للتكنولوجيا الحيوية والسرطان في الأردن (2009-2011). كما شغل منصب مدير مكتب الأبحاث في مستشفى الجامعة الأردنية (2014-2018). أنشأ مختبرات بحثية مثمرة في كليتي الطب، جامعة مؤتة والجامعة الأردنية. وقد شارك الدكتور أهرام في العديد من الأعمال البحثية المتعلقة بالسرطان، والبيولوجيا الخلوية والجزيئية، والتصلب اللويحي المتعدد، وعلوم البروتيوم ، ودراسات البنوك الحيوية وأخلاقيات البحث العلمي. وهو يشارك الآن في أبحاث مبتكرة متعلقة بدور هرمون الأندروجين في سرطان الثدي، والحمض النووي الريبوزي غير المشفر، وخاصة الحمض النووي الريبي المايكروي والحمض النووي الريبي الدائري، وكذلك في أخلاقيات البحث العلمي والبنوك الحيوية في المنطقة العربية. وقد نشر أكثر من 100 مقال بحثي ومراجعة وفصول في كتب، وقدم أعماله في العديد من المؤتمرات الوطنية والدولية. لدى البروفيسور أهرام هدف شخصي يتمثل في إعادة إنشاء حضارتنا من خلال الممارسة الفضلى للبحث العلمي.​
