At The University of Jordan, hundreds of completely edentulous patients are provided with complete dentures annually by undergraduate students and postgraduate students, under the supervision of our experienced staff, who also provide high quality removable dentures at their specialty clinics at the University of Jordan Hospital. In addition to that, as part of our MSc in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics, and in partnership with JOHUD, our postgraduate students provided geriatric patients in nursing homes with removable prostheses, every year. Those patients are our research interest and the effect of different kinds of prostheses on their quality of lives is the basis for our research.  Based on the data collected from those patients, our Research group has successfully published outstanding research papers regarding the quality of life in removable denture patients in highly- ranked dental journals.  Our publication: Simplified versus conventional complete dentures: A randomized crossover clinical trial (DOI: 10.1016/j.prosdent.2022.02.002) , is a common work for most of the group memebers in addition to other colleagues, and was published in 2022 in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, a highly ranked journal. This publication suggests a new simplified technique for the construction of complete dentures, with very intersting outcomes.​​

Furthermore, our research group members have participated in several local and international conferences, including the IADR, American Prosthodontics Society annual meetings and Jordanian International Dental conferences.

In addition to that, Dr. Motasum Abu Awwad is an active member of the Jordan Prosthodontic society. Dr. Abu Awwad has valuable contributions in the society, via presenting lectures, seminars and workshops.
