Triage System for Emergency Departments  



Professor FitzGerald's MD thesis was titled Emergency Department Triage. Which tested the validity and repeatability of a system of ED triage and formed the evidence base for the introduction of the Australasian Triage Scale which has been the basis of ED practice for thirty years​. 



Leader of Public Health Institutions 



Prof. Raeda  Al Qutob She served as president and member of the board of a number of national and international bodies (public, private, not- for –profit and NGO). She assumed  top level leadership, management , and professional  positions in national and United Nations organization offices including being the former advisor to the first lady Queen Rania Abdulla on public health and children, WHO Regional Advisor on Women and Children Health, secretary general of the National Council for Family Affairs, secretary general of the Higher Population Council, first woman Dean of the School of  Medicine in Jordan  at the University of Jordan and director of the UNICEF country program in Jordan. Dr. Al Qutob is a former  Senate at the Jordanian Council of Senates. Dr. Al Qutob is the vice president of the OIC Women Consultative Council, the MENA Health Policy Forum, and the president of the Jordan Erasmus+ Higher Education Reform Expert Committee. She won a number of regional and international awards for applied scientific research in public health. 


National Competitions & Awards





As part of the social mission and responsibility for promoting quality and patient safety, Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) is actively engaged in plenty of initiatives and campaigns including: National Quality and Safety Goals (NQSGSs) and the HCAC Quality Competition. It all comes along with HCAC extensive experience in designing and implementing evidence-based standards and quality improvement programs in Jordan and the region. In 2019, HCAC launched its 1st Quality Competition Award. This award is held every 2 years for accredited healthcare institutions to showcase and celebrate their success stories, innovative initiatives, and outstanding achievements throughout their accreditation journey.​



Research Training for Medical Students

 


As part of their structured research training, medical students engaged in a field-based data collection exercise in the Ain Al-Basha region of Amman. Working in research groups under academic supervision, students gathered primary data on key public health concerns, including maternal and child health and patterns of antibiotic use. This experiential learning activity was designed to enhance their competencies in epidemiological research, fieldwork methodology, and community health assessment, contributing to their overall academic and professional development in medical research.​​
