Broad bean (Vicia faba L.) is one of the oldest and the third most important pulse crop in the world. Broad beans are grown under a range of climatic conditions and are adaptable to a wide range of soil environments. However, the total area cultivated to broad bean is declining due to the susceptibility of the crop to pests and diseases. Major diseases of broad beans are caused by fungi, bacteria, viruses, and nematodes. The best approach to controlling diseases in broad bean is adopting integrated pest management, which helps with sustainable management of pests.
