Dr Khadijeh Al-Zubi - Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Medicine and Periodontology- School of Dentistry - University of Jordan - Jordan

Dr. Khadijeh (DJ) Al-Abedalla Al-Zu'bi is a highly accomplished periodontist and implant dentist with a distinguished career in academia, clinical practice, and research. Born in Mississippi, USA, she holds a D.D.S from the University of Jordan and advanced degrees, including a Master of Dental Science from McGill University and the University of Connecticut, where she also completed her Clinical Certificate in Periodontology. Currently serving as a Consultant in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at the Hospital of the University of Jordan and as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics, Dr. Al-Zu'bi is deeply committed to patient care, education, and advancing the field through her research. Her work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Periodontology and Clinical Oral Investigations, and she actively contributes to scientific advisory boards and editorial roles. A sought-after speaker, she has delivered lectures internationally on topics ranging from implantoplasty to peri-implant diseases. Dual Board-certified by the American Board of Periodontology and the Jordanian Board in Periodontology. Her leadership, including roles as Chief Resident and ITI member, reflects her dedication to shaping the future of periodontal and implant dentistry.

A pioneer in meta-research, Dr. Al-Zu'bi specializes in critically evaluating the design, reporting, and biases in dental clinical trials. Her groundbreaking work includes meta-analyses on adjunctive periodontal therapies (e.g., JDR Clinical & Translational Research), investigations into sex/gender disparities in periodontitis research (Journal of Clinical Periodontology), and the identification of "spin" in scientific abstracts (PLOS ONE). She has also explored diagnostic delays in periodontitis and the impact of technology on dental education, showcasing her interdisciplinary approach. Her work is driven by a mission to enhance transparency, reproducibility, and equity in dental research.​
